CHENNAI: India's No. 1 Somdev Devvarman said he is happy with the way things are going now with All India Tennis Association (AITA), but still feels there is a room for improvement.
"I am happy with the way things are going. I would be lying if I said I am totally satisfied. Continuous improvement is needed. There have been certain changes but there needs to be more.

We should start to see that the federation is doing well. But the motivation to try and improve sports in India never stops," he said on the sidelines of the Chennai Open trophy unveiling on Saturday.
In January 2013, Somdev and other top Indian players rebelled against the tennis federation asking for more professionalism and better playing conditions. The players ended their rebellion in February after AITA promised certain things in writing.
Speaking about his goals for this year, Somdev said: "My goal is not to lose in the first round of any tournament. I will try to give the guys under the top 30 really tough matches and may be try beating them. I am focusing on improving my game and trying to get better daily."
Somdev will face a qualifier in his first round at the Chennai Open. The suspense of who his opponent might be continues. "I will be facing someone who has already played three matches to get to the first round so it will be a tough match. This tournament is just about everyone's," he said.
